"Tell Me Your Worst Candy Nightmare"

"Let Me Know"

Right up above this post is a poll on a few of the worst candy that I have ever received in my reflective bright orange safety Halloween bag, you know the ones you would get at that mandatory safety assembly in the school gym/cafeteria when you were a kid. Well we are not talking about the bags but more about that one candy.. the one that quickly stole that twinkle in your eye the moment you dumped your bag on the kitchen table at end of the night. It was so horrible that you quickly lookup at your friends and hope that they didn't get a glimpse of it or else they'd make you eat it for a good laugh. Anyway here are some of my least favorites....

Cinnamon Mints
DOTS
Candy Corn                                                                                      Circus Peanuts

Take the poll for fun and share with us which ones you hated getting in your candy bags....

"Way back Wednesday"

Going way back with this one to my first ever horror/scary movie.

This was the first movie that I can at least remember watching as a kid and my first introduction to horror/scary movies. We would make it a nightly event when on TV or when someone was daring enough to rent it. We would go all out with snacks, drinks and all other great stuff we would pick up at a corner store down the street we grew up on that just happen to be named Elm St.

Been closed now for years
but if you walked in with $5 you came out with snacks to last you a week...or at least a few hours.

Most of these post are going to be short and to the point....sorry but at least it will give you time to go and check out more awesome blogs at http://countdowntohalloween.blogspot.com/ and also check back here for other cool stuff to come all month long.

Eating Monster Brains

These were fun to make and eat.....well I didn't help much in making them but you can bet I helped make them disappear.  I'm not going to take credit for this treat, it was the wife's idea.

These are the items needed, you can use your choice of flavors.

Go crazy when making your own monster faces on the cups.

First step it to make the pudding, just follow the instructions on the box, they vary depending on the one you buy. Next fill the cups (oh yeah using clear cups is best) about 3/4 of the way.

Crush up your cookies (oreos in our case) in what ever fun way you want.

Last sprinkle some crushed cookies on top and that's it you done.
Those are my little monsters feet.

Enjoy!!!

"I'm the baby"

It’s funny how a child can change you, it’s not just that you grow up because you are now responsible for a human life but this child has made me a baby myself. Before I go on there will be Halloween in this post I promise, I find that every time I see a newborn I quickly think he or she is just adorable and that is not a word I use regularly or was ever in my vocabulary, also I find myself fighting back tears with every video I watch of a baby or young child in it...gosh huh…..wait “gosh” where did that come from.

But I will also do anything for this child…anything. When we watched the first episode of The Walking Dead there was a scene where a bad guy had a baby by the neck and threatened to harm her. I had the worst feeling on that scene and I swear that I would have done something bad to that guy I mean I was angry, sad, felt hopeless and it was just a TV show but if you have read my blog you know how much I get into movies and shows.

Then there is this…

I wasted no time painting my daughters bum so that my wife could make a bumpkin out of it. See this is in the Halloween spirit, even though I used my daughter as the butt of this joke…get it. HA HA.

We even attempted to take pictures of her in a pumpkin patch but this was the best that we could get out of her, she was more entertained by the grass as it was the first time that she felt it between her toes. I will say this, she kicked the crap out of the grass and we all had fun.

Oh and Daddy made that bow....yup!

Fun with no space....

Well we will attempt to put this fun stuff up this weekend, we have a lot of decorations and not enough space on an apartment balcony for it all and I think a 5ft inflatable pumpkin would be overkill in such a small place. My favorite decoration is the one that we made from scratch it even has bright LED's installed in its eye sockets. The best part is that we paid less than $20 for the material to make it compared to $45-$50 decorations at a store.
I will Post it set up and in action, there is also a cauldron that we put water with dry ice to make a neat effect also with LED's. Oh and some lights...blah blah blah check back tomorrow for an update on the set up...

 Day #21
"Tremors 4"

This movie is at spot #11 on the 13 Days of Halloween countdown. I really like the Tremors movies and everything about them, well except for some parts. I watched this movie with mixed thoughts at first because there were no familiar actors that I had seen before.
There was Hiram(aka Burt in all the other movies) and I also really liked Juan Pedilla and the fact that he could never keep a hat on. He was also not a bad actor and held well in this movie.

Now this guy, Black Hand Kelly almost made this movie horrible and I could not stand his acting so this scene made it all better and I was able to finish watching the movie. I recommend the movie pack if you can find it as you will pay a small price for all the movies.

Day #20
"Amityville Horror"

This movie is in my number 12 spot because its a good movie and ill watch it if it is showing on basic cable but I wont cry if I miss it. Like I said it is a good movie and a great scare.
There are some great parts in the movie, like when the little girl shows the babysitter where she was shot by her brother and other small stuff that is added in the movie that you'll miss if you don't pay attention.
Oh and if any women are reading this, Yes there are a lot of scenes with Ryan Reynolds shirtless no pics sorry.

HWCD The Craft

 Day #19
"The Craft"

This movie is in my top 13 favorites, why 13? Well in the spirit of the Thirteen Nights left of Halloween, I will try to list my 13 top favorite stuff of all time that will include movies, games and toys that are in the spirit and bring back the memories of my Halloween past and present.

I not sure what it was that made me like this movie so much that I added it to my list. The funny thing is I never replaced the VHS tape with a DVD so I haven't seen it in a while but I wouldn't mind watching it now or at anytime, to bad I don't have a VCR player.

I guess I was in that phase in my life where I thought this stuff was cool, I bought books and somewhat dressed in large baggy clothes,Hey I was in high school, plus I'm glad I didn't ware black all the time that's just weird to do in Texas. Maybe it was the fact that in the movie they were able to do cool stuff get what ever they wanted and I didn't care that it came with consequences.....well I guess I did because I don't follow or find that stuff interesting anymore.

Still a great move.
